the telecommuting job's home state, as many company headquarters are located throughout the
United States and beyond.
Job searching also requires job seekers to have a resume specifically designed to land a
home-based job. This involves stating education, past employment information and listing home
office capabilities. Furthermore, availability, adjusted to the potential employer's time
zone should also be noted in the cover letter. When designing the cover letter, in addition to
availability, be sure to note the position applying for and direct the cover letter to the
company's hiring manager and/or Human Resources Department.
